Pokemon: Lost Legends -- Prologue

Prologue

The room was in darkness, the only light coming from a flickering television screen, partially covered by a figure of a man sitting in an arm chair. There were two men seated behind him, covered in darkness as well, their faces obscured by the hoods they wore. The man seated clicked the remote's volume button a few times, so that the only sound in the room heard was the narrator on screen.

"This just in, Team Rocket leader, Cypher Red, and Team Aqua Leader, Tyranator, have been murdered. The murderer in question is currently unknown, but authorities are investigating enthusiastically. They are also trying to locate the Leaders of Team Magma and Team Galactic. If you have any information on them, call 555-313-1330, and tell them as much as you know." The mute button was pressed by the man seated and he turned in the chair to face the other two. "Good job. You've succeeded in the murder of the two men opposing our work. Except, you didn't need to actually murder them. You could've just imprisoned them until we've completed the plan." The man on the left dressed in red lowered his hood and cocked an eyebrow before speaking. "We did try that. Honest to God we did, but it just didn't work out as we had hoped. They resisted spastically and we accidentally killed them. Besides, if we had captured them, their minions would still have hope and continue fighting us. Now it's like a snake with no head." "Accidentally? How could you accidentally kill someone? That's like saying--" The third man, still with the hood on coughed and shook his head rapidly. "Ah..yes right.. the whole Virgin Mary deal.."

The man seated glanced up as though staring at God, although "God" in this fic would have to the author of this fic. "You just had to agree to that deal, didn't you?" Shaking his head, the first man fixed his gaze once more on the man in red. "I want you to go find the Hunter Leader and try to get them on our side. The sooner the better, that way we can make the Rangers join us as well." The man in red nodded and the third man who hadn't said a word, walked out before either man could say anything to him. He knew what had to be done. And he also knew that he was apart of the few who could destroy the world if he wanted.

If only he had the strength.
